WEEK 3 - 12 WEEKS OF CHRISTMAS 2023
This week's project is one for a special friend or family member. You may not be making this in multiples, because it's a little time-consuming, but the end result is beautiful.
The colours are Lost Lagoon for the card base, Pretty Peacock for the mat and Basic White for the top layer, which was embossed with the snowflake die from the Magical Meadow die set. Before embossing the Basic White layer, stamp the greeting in Pretty Peacock. Now you can emboss around the greeting - you'll need to repeat the process around 12-15 times to get the entire piece covered. I left the area blank where I knew the centre of the wreath would be.
To make the wreath, start by cutting two circles from the Deckled Circles dies. You could use two punches instead, and you want them to nest so they make a 5mm ring. You'll use this to attach all the foliage.
I then cut several of the foliage pieces from the Magical Meadow dies using Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock card stock. Each piece is quite big so I cut them down which gave me around 3-5 pieces out of each die cut. I used Tombow liquid glue, in a thin line around the circle and started adhering the foliage until I had one layer all the way around. I then added another thin line of glue over the top of the first layer of foliage and attached the next lot of pieces. Continue until you've got the amount of coverage you're after and it's a nice shape. N.B. I didn't end up using the Moody Mauve pieces, but you could if you want a pop colour.
This is the back side and you can see how the circle gives you the stability and shape you'll need to make the wreath, and it's also the easiest method to be able to attach it to your card.
Adhere the mat to the card base, then the Basic White embossed piece. Finally, add the wreath with Tombow. Finish it with a bow using the Silver Edged Sheer Ribbon and some bling (Faceted Gems Item #162148) from the bundle.
