#WCMD2021
Happy World Card Making Day everyone! We had a lovely morning of fun, creativity and connection. I'm in Sydney and because we're still in lockdown, it had to be a Zoom session. A big thank you to everyone who came along. The advantage of being online was that my friend Lee was able to join us from Minnesota! So it truly was a global connection today!
The brief I gave was a card sketch to use as a starting point, and the challenge was 3 in the hour long session. I confess I had to cut my pieces in advance. I'm a planner, and find it hard to think on the spot, so I needed to prepare! These are the cards I made:
The base card is Crumb Cake, and the Designer Series Paper is Blackberry Beauty. I stamped the greeting using Memento Tuxedo Noir Ink and then used a die cut from Tasteful Labels to cut it out. The little butterflies are stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink and came from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set.
Another Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper card, this one layered onto Pool Party, with the card base in Blackberry Bliss. The gold leaves/flowers are from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera pack.
Starting with a pre-printed card base from the Hand-Penned Memories & More Cards & Envelopes
(AC Pg 127), I layered a long piece (4cm x 13.8cm) of Expressions in Ink DSP onto Basic Black card stock measuring 4.5cm x 14.3cm. The square is Hand-Penned DSP 7cm x 7cm layered onto Basic Black 7.5 x 7.5cm. The dragonfly was stamped in Pool Party, then again in Cinnamon Cider. There are two dragonflies in the stamp set, Dragonfly Garden. One is slightly more solid, and the other more of a line image so they are perfect for Two-Step stamping techniques like this.
I had to throw in a couple of Christmas cards, because I just got my new delivery of products from the mini catalogue! This card is a Real Red base, with Painted Christmas DSP. The label was made using the Christmas Season Bundle (stamps & die cuts). The greeting and feathery bits of greenery are from the Christmas to Remember Bundle. Both bundles & the DSP are part of the Painted Christmas Suite
(Jul-Dec Mini catty pg 16-19).
My final card is this gorgeous Robin Red Breast - well I hope that's what I got, because it was certainly what I was aiming for!! The stamps are from Happy Holly-Days. That cute bit of embossing on the white panel is from Meadow Moments embossing folder pack, and the pine needles & cones are the die cut from Christmas Pinecone Dies.
I hope you've enjoyed these cards, and that you feel inspired to make your own.
Happy World Card Making Day 2021.
